From its looming mountain peaks to its historic buildings, this gorgeous capital city has it all. |
Relive Alaska's Gold Rush days in this "Gateway to the Klondike," home of the Chilkoot Trail.
Snowcapped summits & flowing waterfalls only enhance the incredible glacier viewing here.
The salmon capital of the world also has the world's largest collection of totem poles. |
Horse-drawn carriages and blooming gardens just add to this seaside city's European feel.
KETCHIKAN
Originally a fishing camp, this city is built on steep hillsides along the water. Saxman Native Village boasts a vibrant Tlingit Indian culture featuring spectacular totem poles. Picturesque Ketchikan is built on piles out over the water and clings to the slopes of Deer Mountain. Explore by kayak for a different perspective on southeast Alaska's "First City". |
SKAGWAY
Called the Gateway to the Klondike, this site is preserved as a national historic park and has retained the flavor of the boomtown Gold Rush days. The downtown Klondike Gold Rush National Historic Park District is filled with local lore. Explore it on foot or by street car with a customed conductor who'll weave spellbinding tales of Skagway's cast of colorful characters.

JUNEAU
This Alaska's capital city was once part of Alaska's Gold Rush. The most cosmopolitan city along the Inside Passage, Juneau is also packed with history, a delightful shopping district, and beautiful scenery. You can go on a glacier expedition via helicopter, walk on Mendenhall glacier or take a floatplane trip over the Juneau Icefield. Nearby Admiralty Island has the world's highest concentration of brown bears. |

TRACEY ARM (Cruising)
This 20-mile-long fjord, chiseled from Yosemite-like granite rocks, encompasses countless waterfalls, huge icebergs, and mountain peaks that reach more than 5,000 feet. It is one of two 25 mile long fjords with tidewater glaciers at the head
leading off Holkham Bay, the other is Endicott Arm. Search the cliffs for mountain goats scaling the near-vertical rock faces, see black bears strolling the shores, and listen to the sounds of harbour seals hauled out on ice floes. This steep-sided fjord lies 50 miles southeast of Juneau on the east side of Stephens Passage. It is highlighted by a pair of tidewater glaciers including the Sawyer Glacier, arguably the bluest and most beautiful glacier in
Alaska, and a gallery of icebergs that float down the length of it.

VICTORIA, British Columbia
VICTORIA is home to a rich diversity of cultures. It's also the launch pad for trips into the Canadian wilderness. Ferries ply the straits between the island and the mainland, bringing people for a pleasant afternoon amid the museums, flower gardens and galleries.
