December
2007 sees the arrival of a new Queen to the Cunard fleet, Queen
Victoria, the second largest Cunarder ever built. For the first time in
168 years, three Queens will sail together under the Cunard banner for
the first time in Cunard history.
Distinguished
by her red and black livery, Queen Victoria is a true Cunarder proudly
upholding the famous heritage and traditions. She was ceremoniously
named, by the Duchess of Cornwall Camilla Parker Bowles and Prince
Charles, in her home port of Southampton.
Her
interiors are warmly reminiscent of a more gracious era with a dramatic
three-tiered Grand Lobby and sumptuous marbles, woods, plush carpets,
rich fabrics and soft furnishings that simply exude elegance.
To set eyes on her sleek outline, with her distinctive black and red
livery, is to recognise her instantly as the latest Classic Cunarder, a
unique marriage of heritage and innovation. As one of the first guests
ever to embark, you will encounter the dramatic three-tier Grand Lobby,
whose magnificent staircase and eye-catching artwork offers a lavish
taste of life aboard. Walk around the ship and you’ll see elaborate
chandeliers adorn the Queens Room double height ceiling to enhance its
calm grandeur.
The Winter Garden is all light and relaxation, very much colonial in
tone, with decked floors and leafy foliage – its glass roof even opens
to the warm breeze.

Following
Cunard's finest traditions
Warmly
reminiscent of a more gracious era, modern technology combines
seamlessly with her classic yet contemporary interior. Crafted to exude
elegance with intricate mosaics, gleaming chandeliers and luxuriant
marbles. Crafted too, for
sublime comfort with plush carpets, rich fabrics and soft furnishings.
Her
arrival in December 2007 marked years of anticipation. In January 2008,
she makes her first show-stopping global debut as her thrilling Maiden
World Cruise is destined for seafaring folklore. It's a classic Cunard
tradition magnificently reinterpreted. Would you expect anything else? Queen
Victoria is, after all, a Classic Cunarder.
January
2008 will see another proud moment in our history. As Queen
Victoria
sets off for
New York
on the first stage of her Maiden World Cruise, her sister, QE2 will join
her on an historic tandem Transatlantic Crossing. These elegant
Cunarders will sail on
January 6, 2008
arriving in
New York
on January 13 to meet their sister, Queen Mary 2 for a great
meeting of the three
Queens
. A momentous occasion not to be missed.
Builder: Fincantieri Cantieri Navali Spa
(Marghere Shipyard near Venice)
This is the first Cunard Line ship
built by Fincantieri, one of the most technically advanced
shipbuilders in the world who have built more than 7,000 vessels.
